Nursing students experiences in neonatal care: A qualitative study

Clinical practice is a moment of stress for nursing students with impact in academic outcomes. Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) are specific and multifaceted context that offer complex experiences to students. A descriptive, cross-sectional, observational study, qualitative approach was outlined aimed describe categorize the NICU. Semi structured interviews were used data collection content analysis analysis. Among eligible (those had performed clinical NICU agreed participate) purposive sample 6 selected. Data allowed identification five categories: evolution, expectations about practice, challenges faced feelings babies their parents, comparing adult practice. The findings this study indicate experienced wide range experiences.
